Information About Our School
‘a place to nourish thinking minds’
Acre Heads Primary School has seen rapid growth over the last thirty years, but we have never lost our foundations of working with our community and developing children to become lifelong learners.
We are part of the East Riding Local Authority with over 130 schools working together. The school currently has a roll of over 400 pupils and is oversubscribed in most year groups. Many of our children come from the immediate neighbourhood, but unusually, we are a school right on the boundary and have mix of both Hull and East Riding Local Authority children.
We have strong links with the local churches and they work with us on a regular basis. The children attend services at St. Mark’s and the Methodist churches during the year. We also visit other places of worship to celebrate special events with parents. Christian values permeate our ethos, ensuring we offer a safe and nurturing environment where each child can develop responsibility for themselves as an individual, those around them and in the wider community and beyond.
The dedicated, skilled staff provide children with exciting and engaging lessons that ensure they progress well. We also provide a wide range of curriculum enrichment activities to enhance children’s learning. We have a supportive and hard-working group of governors who use their skills and expertise to enhance the work of the school.
We are very proud of our school and our pupils’ achievements and believe that our success is brought about through everyone working together, making Acre Heads Primary a fun, creative place to learn and belong to.
