Information About Our School
‘a place to nourish thinking minds’
Acre Heads Primary School has grown significantly over the past thirty years, but our commitment to community and to nurturing lifelong learners remains at the heart of everything we do.
We are proud to be part of the East Riding Local Authority, working collaboratively with over 130 schools across the region. Our school has a Published Admission Number (PAN) of 60 pupils per year group, with a total capacity of 420. We are currently slightly above this, with 421 children on roll, and remain oversubscribed in most year groups.
While many of our pupils live nearby, over 90% of our intake comes from outside the school’s immediate catchment area, drawing from both Hull and East Riding communities. Our unique location on the boundary between the two authorities creates a rich and diverse school community.
We have strong and valued links with our local churches. Children attend regular services at St Mark’s and the Methodist churches, and we also celebrate special events by visiting other places of worship alongside our families. Christian values underpin our ethos, helping us to provide a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment where every child is encouraged to take responsibility for themselves, others, and their role in the wider world.
Our dedicated and highly skilled staff deliver engaging, high-quality lessons that promote strong academic progress. In addition to our broad and balanced curriculum, we offer a wide range of enrichment opportunities to enhance learning and inspire curiosity beyond the classroom.
Our work is further strengthened by a committed governing body, whose expertise and support help us continue to grow and improve.
We are incredibly proud of our school community and our children’s achievements. Our success comes from the shared effort of pupils, staff, families, and governors — all working together to make Acre Heads Primary a fun, creative, and inspiring place to learn and belong.
If you would like to find out more, please get in touch — we’d be delighted to arrange a visit for you. A warm welcome always awaits you at Acre Heads.
